What is your role here at Rotork?
Project Manager – New Product Development (NPD)
What kind of technology at Rotork do you work with on a regular basis?
Software tools for task and resource management, project planning and reporting, and tracking project spend.
What does an average day at Rotork look like for you?
I am always communicating with stakeholders of the projects I run to ensure work is being undertaken at the right time, by the right people, to move the project forward. This includes scheduling and chairing meetings, recording and tracking actions, monitoring risks, resolving blockers, providing input to key decisions, and encouraging collaboration of all functions for project success. Project teams typically have members from other geographical regions, and could also involve consultancies and other third parties, so my role is to keep everyone informed and moving towards a common goal.
What were the main things about Rotork that made you want to join?
I joined Rotork because I always wanted to work at a multinational company where I could make a difference while also being given the opportunity to continually improve my skills.
What is the biggest positive about working at Rotork?
The biggest positive about working at Rotork is the range of opportunities to get involved and grow yourself. I joined Rotork in 2011 as a Nuclear Product Engineer with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, with Rotork I travelled to numerous global locations, attained Chartered Engineer status, completed a PhD, transitioned to being a Project Manager, and successfully launched several projects ranging from mechanical and electronics, to software and mobile application.
What makes you most excited about the future with Rotork?
With many innovative projects in the pipeline, it is an exciting time to be part of Rotork. I am really looking forward to being part of the technology evolution that influences the Rotork portfolio in years to come.
