Exeeco wins British Energy Framework Agreement extension

Exeeco has been awarded a three-year extension to its Framework Agreement with British Energy for the supply of Rotork valve actuation products and the service and repair of all makes of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic valve actuators at its nine UK power stations. Exeeco, a Rotork Site Services company, has over thirty years specialised experience of power station automation and valve actuation projects.

As well as continuing to supply Rotork actuators, spares and servicing to its fleet, Exeeco will be supporting British Energy’s review of obsolescence in valve actuation and assisting with strategies in this important area to help the company achieve plant life extensions at its stations.

Jon Vincent, British Energy Supply Chain Specialist, explains:  “This contract was awarded to Exeeco to benefit the technological implementation of our long term plans.  The combination of Rotork products and the expertise of Exeeco will be of significant future benefit to British Energy.

“It is our intention to enhance control and automation at many of our sites, including Sizewell B, which currently has an accounting life until 2035.  All of our stations undergo regular, stringent outage overhauls and plant upgrades to maintain modern and reliable processes and controls.

“Reliable valve actuation is an important element to the success of our plans.  Exeeco has demonstrated unrivalled actuation and automation expertise which, combined with the quality and reliability of Rotork products, will serve British Energy well in our mission.”

Exeeco Sales Director Ian Elliott adds:   “We have served British Energy for over thirty years, providing actuator overhauls, outage services and the design, manufacture and installation of automated control and actuation systems.  We are proud that British Energy has extended this significant contract, adding strength to our partnering agreement and commitment to key accounts.”

For the past three years Exeeco has also been busy providing permanent actuator training facilities at British Energy sites, involving the design and installation of training rigs at Hartlepool, Torness, Heysham, Hinkley Point B and Dungeness B.
