FAQs
What happens if the customer forbids the use of the filter regulator?
The actuator is exposed to any pressure coming from the supply, but the movement starts as soon as the valve receives the minimum necessary torque to move. Hence an actuator sized at the minimum pressure, even when supplied with a higher pressure will not generate any excess of torque. However if the valve gets stuck during the travel, the actuator output torque generated by the cylinder may exceed (depending on the inlet pressure supplied) the MAST of the actuator and of the valve as well.
If a customer requires protection against such a scenario, the only solution is sizing a model whose MOP is below the maximum air supply pressure. This sizing is performed selecting the option 'Actuator MAST mandatory' in the sizing sheet.
